    Hi,

Colours and wing position very nice, a bit of a head turn right would have been nice, great shot.

I agree with the others. Very magical and mystic. I would definitely hang this one on the wall.

Wonderful image. Love the allround white feel to it. As much as it looks plain and simple, it is magical! :)

Quite lovely. I like it too. Great pose. Was the owl baited with mice?

    Yes Mr Morris.

It is almost impossible to get as close without bait!
If you can approach the bird without bait within 50 feet, it has probably been fed by someone else.

We have waited for over 2 hours before he accepts our offerings.

I agree with the others, Guy. This is a wonderful image and the owl is amazingly white. The pose is very nice though I think it could have been even stronger if the head was turned just enough to see both pupils clearly (not so much that the bird is looking directly at you though). Well done.

Mmm... a great image! The subtle shadow on the snow really makes this one appealing in my opinion.

#1: Thanks for your honesty; it is greatly appreciated. We do ask that if you use food, water, or recorded songs to attract a bird to you that you note it in the original post.

#2: He might have been full from being fed by others. (I personally do not have a problem with feeding live mice to the owls though some do.) At Jones, Beach, LI, NY Snowy Owls winter in some years. No feeding is permitted as it is a state park. Some of the birds are skittish but some are very tame.

Note for Steve: the really white ones are the adult males.

Superb image! Its one of the nicer Snowies I've seen as well! I have a friend here in Minnesota named Scott C. that I believe came up about four years ago and shot these guys with you. I am envious of those great opportunities.:)

Cool pose and setting. I would have raised the ISO to 200 for higher shutter speed and/or wider DOF and it might benefit from a tad CW rotation.
