    Hi Mike,
I like the clean background and perch, you have good eye contact and a good head angle...a few points to consider...the base image is under exposed, the bird is also on the soft side out of focus...he is too centered in frame...I suggest cropping from the left side of the frame and adding more canvas to the right side, so that your bird conforms to the rule of thirds...Would also open up the mid-tones and lighten the background a tad...you need to lighten the area around the face and eye; and selective sharpen the eye...

Hi Mike, Very good capture and pose. Tough bird to catch up to. A tad dark, maybe a higher ISO would be an option. Dave

thanks once again to you all.
i always look forward to your comments Gus. i guess i screwed up right from the beginning by making the bg darker up top. you won't believe this, but i got pics of 2 of these guys at the feederat thesame time. i think i have a strong candidate for another shot at it. i'll try to keep all of your comments inmind when doing my next shot. thanks again.
    mike
