I may be a bit tight on the crop. I was already tight to bird and needed to do some leveling so.. Let me know if too tight. Also any comments on the whites would be appreciated. 50D, 400/5.6 at f/9, Av mode at 1/1600, ISO400, EC-2/3. Taken Point Roberts Wa.

    Hi Dave,
I like the close up pose..the details are sharp and you have good color rendition...your whites are in check...my suggestion would be to tone down or desaturate the blue hues to give the water a more natural look...good show...looking forward to more...

Dave, the amount of detail you have in the whites is quite impressive! Very nicely done.

Dave, Great detail and exposure, looks a bit tight but that's a personal preference. I like the colors

    Dave:

My two cents . . . Super capture all around, exposure clear as a bell and I like the way you presented it ~ IMHO, studio lights couldn't have done a better job . . .

    A Canuck masterpiece

    Many thanks for sharing

You're right about the tight crop, but you have a wonderful image. Your colors are fantastic as is the sharpness and head angle.
    Congrats

Thanks everyone. Turns out bird is a Sanderling. Grace posted a very nice photo of one in Avian forum. Dave

Hi Dave - exposure looks good to me and plenty sharp - well done :) - agree with toning down the blue hues.

Very nice, like the bird's position, sharpness, exposure. I'll be the outlier here - I want just a tad more area to the left and above the bird, trying to get the bird out of the center a bit.
    Cheers
