I have recently been working on getting sharp photos of these birds in flight. Lots of trials and errors.

    Comments and critiques welcome.

Cool capture, details and eye contact. It was probably a good idea not to use a TC for faster focus. I might lighten the shadow on the ground and if you have maybe it would also work as pano crop with the entire shadow included.

Love it! Great pose, light and detail, I think that removing the shadow might help. Congratulaitons!

Super capture of a bird that is hard to photograph still no less flying! Thanks for the exif - 1/3200 WOW! If you have more shadow I would use it or if not clone it out. Bob

Nicely done! I would go with a pano crop that includes the shadow. Love the fanned tail feathers and great eye contact.

Thanks for your comments. Unfortunately, I don't have more shadow to work with. I can clone what is there to see how it looks like.

    Salut Pierre:

Tremendous capture of this very difficult bird to photograph in flight. My first thought after admiring this capture was that the shadow detracts from the main subject. I would do a quick mask to remove the shadow since you have no more shadow to try the pano.

    Felicitations!

Holy cow! That is super! I am sure it is not a big bird, which makes it so much more special a capture. Very, very well done! :) Removing the shadow is a good idea IMHO. :)

As suggested here is a repost without the shadow.

    Thanks

The repost looks much better, I might crop a bit off the left.
