    Dear All,

I had clicked a few images of this elusive species In Nagarhole National Park, India. For the fear of spooking it, I didn't even add the converter to my 400mm. So this image is a huge crop - about 40% of the original is cropped - so it is about 60% of the original image.

    Canon EOS 1D Mark II, Canon EF 400mm f2.8 L IS USM, ISO 200, f5, 1/640, EV +1/3

Would love to hear your comments and critiques.

    Cheers,
    Sabyasachi

PS: How big can you print a 3 mb jpeg file

    Sabyasachi,

I like the B&W treatment. I also like the stare of the cat. I think I would crop some from the right to get him out of the center. Nicely done.

B/W works well here. Agree about placing him different in the frame. I really like the intense stare and alert eyes. Hard to tell from the web but your "heavy" crop seems to have held up well.

Printing is my area of least knowledge or interest which is why I just send stuff off to a lab. The following link may or may not help in regards to your question. http://www.urban75.org/photos/print.html

    Hello Sabyasachi,
I don't mind the centered subject on this one. The angle of the vegetation on the right side, together with the rock kind of "force" him into that spot. The branches peeking into the upper left then "force" him down into the crouch. With his body angled into the center and the opposite, slightly off-center turn of the head, it all works for me. I don't know about a 3 mB file but I did print some 6.3 mB jpgs into some nice looking 11x14s.

This is great I do not mind the position at all, and it is good to see that you can find leopards in India, I have always wanted to return to the South.

This is a repost as I felt the initial post was a big crop (about 40% was cropped).
    Ken,

I don't have much of leopard luck. Hopefully, after the sighting of this one, my luck will change. The chances of sighting leopard in India is better in Nagarhole in south and Pench in western India.

    Look forward to your comments.

    Cheers,
    Sabyasachi

Sabyasachi, I love the comp, intense eye contact, and your black and white conversion. The dark rock in the repost is a bit distracting, but I prefer the sharpness and saturation in this one. Well done indeed.
