These birds can be a nuisance but they sure are beautiful in the right light. Gatorland allows you to get up close and personal to them. Since I am not used to photographing smaller birds, it was good practice for me. You just have to work around your subject until you are happy with the BG and the light...not always an easy task.

    Well done Marina,
I like the composition, image and close up pose...you have very good details in the blacks...a good head angle and sharp eye...the solid green background helps showcase the bird...good show...looking forward to the next one Marina...:)

Nice profile that does a great job of capturing both the iridescence and the feather detail. Love the BG too. Perhaps a little more canvas up top.

Agree with Doug on being a little tight but really nice light on the bird. They are numerous but not easy to capture properly. Fine capture. I think the females are also beautiful, one of my favorite birds.

.... btw they seem to be more numerous at any parking lot !!!! The most I've ever seen in one place is at exit 49 I -75 Thousands :)

What a surprise, Marina! This Grackle is indeed, beautiful due to your excellent exposure and bg planning.

Fabulous work Marina. I love the feather sheen, and your BG looks almost too perfect. Well planned, and executed. :)
