Hi Linda,
I like the capture and the spread wing position on your bird...when photographing these dark birds, you need to increase the exposure compensation depending on the light, anywhere from a +0.7 to a +1.0, +1.3. This will lighten up the under wing and bring out more of the details...also it a tad tight on the top of the frame for that wing tip, would add a little canvas up there...looking forward to your next one...
Hi Linda - nice capture - agree whole heartedly with Gus on the techs - dont be afraid to dial in that + compenstaion - use your histogram and over exposure blinkies as a guide - as long as no part of your bird is blinking with a over exposure warning. Dial it in.:)
Linda, this is a nice capture and I like the composition. I took the liberty of making some color and curves adjustments to your image to bring out the striking pattern of this bird. I also shoot with the XTi and find that it tends to make images slightly lacking in red. Looking forward to more!
Linda:
You've got a nice capture of this bird in flight here. Gus nailed the techs and Kerry did a heck of a job in his re-post, it shows just how good a capture you have. All you needed was to dial up the exposure a little.
Big time congrats
Hi Linda Love the pose and behavior Do remember to look at the histogram the image is under exposed Normally for birds overhead we add one stop since you are photographing the shaded side of the bird. With strong light it could be problematic since the upper will be toast !!
The better Osprey images are usually taken at the beach with lots of reflection form the sand to illuminate the under wings !!!
