hand held, natural light, slight crop
cloned out one twig that came up accross the eye

My first decent images of this species, this character seems to have taken over the area where the red-taileds have been hunting recently., amazing how big this bird is!

I think the snow really helped with the light.

    thanks for looking.

Raymond...nice soft lighting and great wing position. I would clone out the branch on the far right and the small ones on the bottom if this was mine...

Love the underwing detail and the soft light. There are a few too many branches for me. The pupil needs to be darkened and the iris lightened a bit.

wee bit cluttered IMO Ray, but a beautiful image of the hawk indeed.
Congrats on at least getting the shot

Ray, nice lighting/exposure, wing position and detail. I like it. The clutter of branches is a bit distracting, but this is also habitat. Photographing big birds over snow makes for great underwing light. Nice job getting this bird.

I like the action pose, the sharpness, and the soft light, Raymond. I agree about the branches, though with clean background, it would be rather easy to thin them out by quick masking.

Such a nice clean bird that I personally would clone all of the branches out. Looks like you won't be doing any photography anytime soon, Ray! Sorry bud, cloning duties call. ;)

lol buddy, you know I thought about it, but since I have a few other clean shots, I won't bother right now., but maybe some day I will, you never know.

i am surprised no one said that it looks dark., every time I look at it, I think it should be brighter.
