    Here is another of my fav shots from Thailand '08.
    shot from car w/ bean bag mount.



    Camera: Nikon D300 + 500mm f4 AFS-I + 1.4x tele
    Exposure: 0.001 sec (1/1250)
    Aperture: f/8.0
    Focal Length: 700 mm
    ISO Speed: 250
    Exposure Bias: -4/3 EV
    Flash: No Flash

    Hi Paul, I am not crazy about the perch, but I am just in love with the great DOF you´ve got and the outstanding detail! Great sharp image, stunning colors, BG and head angle! Big, huge congratulaitons!

    Sharp, good EXP, and a cool bird. Pulling the car forward and a bit to the left would have given you a better angle to the subject.

    Other than nits already mentioned, the light appears a bit harsh. But I guess at the end of the day if I were in a holiday location I'd shoot all day! :) Great details!

    thanks for the C&C everyone, I really appreciate it.
    If I recall, the light was somewhat harsh, as it must have been around noon.
    We drove up behind it and caught it somewhat off guard, would loved another angle and better perch for sure.

    What an animal! The colours are quite superb. I would love to see this species in the flesh.

    Although you did really well to hold DOF through the bird and although you have a nice clean BG, I'm not so wrapped in the perch.
