    “Mr. Blue”

Note: Could not change my capture angle due to the physical surroundings; the composition was taken at an angle looking into the sun. This is why we see the backlight around the face and neck areas.

This handsome fellow was looking at his future bride, a few feet away, at Anhinga Trail, in Everglades National Park. He was painted with a Nikon D70s using a Nikkor AF-S 300mm f/4 D IF-ED lens, and a Nikkor 1.4 T/C.

    Image Solution:
    focal length @ 630mm / exposure mode @ aperture priority / matrix metering / ISO @ 400 /1/500sec - f/5.6 / exposure comp @ 0EV / white balance @ auto / AF Mode @ AF–C, dynamic range /color mode @ sRGB / tone comp @ +1 degree / hue adjustment @ +2 degrees / saturation factor @ +1 degree / no speedlight – ambient light / no tripod - hand held /

    Comments greatly appreciated…

Nicely done Gus. Beautiful curve in bird's neck. Very soft colours through out and still sharp. Interesting shoulder patch. Dave

Very nice Gus, and the BG is beautiful as always. This is one of my favorite birds to capture. The subtle colors of the plumage are unique and interesting. Great detail for a hand-held shot. Thanks!
