    Default Snowy Portrait

This isn't a crop. I wanted to see how close I could get by crawling on my stomach. It came to about 10 feet. I couldn't get the 1.4 off the camera once I started the exercise, hence the close-up. I know this will be very tight for some, but thought it was interesting to post nonetheless. Conditions were overcast, late in the afternoon, with just a very faint hint of sun peeking through a small hole in the clouds. Taken today -15C.
    Absolutely no bait used.

Yes, most, if not everyone will talk about how tight it is...

I will say, I love this type of work, but I am in the minority...

nice work with the approach, always glad to hear about the slow and low approach and I hope to see it more this spring and summer...

This must be a very cooperative model. I don't mind the tight crop, it looks as if the critical focus is on the shoulder, wider DOF would have made it even better.

A nice frame filled image in my opinion... I like the variation of the background from top to bottom.

Great stalking technique. I love the eyes but would like to see a bit more room left and above.

I like this type of tight crops, I think in this case it works IMO. Love the detail on the feathers and the lovely look, it is one of my dreams to photograph this species! If something, I would try to tone down the upper BG. Congratulations!
