The sun was just breaking the horizon as I photographed this image at Anhinga Trail in the Everglades. I wanted to capture that warm early morning feeling. It was cool with only the Anhingas communicating. Very calming. ISO 1000, f/10.0, 1/1000 sec, Sigma 80-400mm f/6.3 w/2x extender, 284mm, Evaluative Metering, Auto Exposure, Auto WB.

Well composed and executed Mr. Waas,
I like the placement of the bird in frame, you have a good head angle and eye contact...I took your image and adjusted the mid-tones slightly, and selective sharpened the eye...see if this presents well to you...

Hi Richard I like the mood and you did come up with a pleasing bg from all the clutter. Excellent. Feeling captured !!!

btw at this time I would be looking for birds perched off the ground midway down the trail. You will get and incredible color behind them, lats for only minutes. Just before sun up you want to be all the way at the back looking for silhouettes !!!
