This little fellow was making tracks and tunneling in the snow. I hope the white doesn't detract from the squirrel. I was unable to make it darker and still look natural.

Tom...beautiful image. I like the positioning of the subject and lighting. One small nit is I would try and get a bit more detail in certain areas of the snow that have little detail. If you can't it's still a great image.

Cute image Tom with excellent exposure and I love the pose and eye contact in this one. I also find the tunnels he has made adds a lot to this image.

    Tom,

Nice work getting low. Good sharpness and detail on the squirrel. You could try a crop for left to place him less in the center of the frame. Try a Rule of Thirds placement.

I'm thinking you went with this comp to include the entire shadow (like the pointy ears!) Would work with the suggested crop but this one works for me because the tunnels kind of curve that way and his body and shadow ar pointing that way as well.

I like the tunnels in the snow. It talks about the behaviour and strengthens the image. It works for me.

Very cute little squirrel here. A bit of a crop off the left side of the frame would balance the comp...

I think I might have gone this way with it.

The head may be looking into the "short side" but look at the direction the eye is looking.
    Straight at you.

Cropping some off the right balances the image out and not cutting the shadow is a nice bonus.

I agree James, a much better suggestion.
