    Default Marching Horned Lark

I went back to the field where I found buntings, longspurs and larks yesterday and tried to get closer, which is pretty much impossible since they are quite skittish. I then looked for a spot that they seemed to frequent often, sat still, waited and hoped for the best. I got a few decent images and very cold fingers. :)

Nice timing Axel and great exposure, action and detail as well as well composed. Congratulations on a fine image.

Love the larks pose with the raised leg. great eye contact and you did a very good job with the exposure saving that beautiful testure of the snow :-)

I'm liking the raised leg action here. I suppose the only thing I'd mess with is selectively taking out the blues in the snow... obviously a personal preference and it looks fine either way.

    Those birds are brave!

Great looking lark, details, light and pose are fabulous. Patience pay off.

I love the raised foot; can you believe the length of that hind toe????

With the light from the left you did a great job with the EXP and the body position.
