    Nice capture of action Dave. The low angle and lighting are very nice. The bird's head is a bit soft and may respond to more sharpening. Also you could lose a bit of water below and add some above to provide a bit better balance to the image. I am very envious of people who have loon/diver opportunities.

    Hey Dave,
    I like John's idea of taking a bit off the bottom....about 1/2....would further emphasize the action. Definitely agree on a bit more selective sharpening on the head but as John mentioned.....the action is super ....so the minor tweaks will just strengthen an already strong image.

    A couple of good critiques that I agree with. I like the look-back pose, and the prey is a definite bonus.

    I like the eye contact and crab and agree on more sharpening and a crop off the bottom.

    I agree with all above and would add that simily selecting and darkening the pupil would increase the apparent sharpness.
