    Default Snow Bunting Flyby

It is pretty tough to capture these little guys in flight since they fly so fast. I photographed this bird in a field nearby. It is about a 50% crop and I have to try this again to hopefully get one larger in the frame.

Great wing position and fanned tail feathers. I just wish it were a little sharper. 1/2000 seems fast, but I'd probable go to f/7.1 and ISO 640. I'd also do away with + EC.

Axel, I LOVE this one and appreciate the difficulty of catching one of these on the fly! Having used the same gear for my SB post on Wednesday, I know how hard this is to do. Perfect in-flight capture and exposure, bird looks sharp although with my iPhone LCD I'm not absolutely sure. They surely are challenging flight photography subjects, so keep trying for full frame. Big Congrats!

I know how tough this can be, got a little pack of them on site I visit from time to time. Lots of people feed them seed which makes them pretty tame and they come very close, so I tried some flight shots, failed miserably.......

They do love sunflower hearts though, might be worth feeding them to get them in the area you want....

    Nice work.

Nice wing position. light and an interesting subject. The head is sharp but most of the balance of the image is soft.

Not one of your best but I can sense the excitement Axel. A great capture that held up relatively well for such large crop. Your post processing is pretty good mate. :) Nice wing spread and pose in frame!

They are indeed tough to get in flight! We have a few area's were the farmers spread manure and it brings these fella's in for some stinky reason. Good luck getting the next flight image of one of these birds!
