    Hi,

I have been studying the flight pattern of chickadees recently. My goal is to arrange feeders in way to predict exactly the path use to get to the seeds. After it's only a matter of reflex... I'm missing my MK III... Should be back from Canon service center next week..

    Thanks for looking!

Very cool pose, details and BG. I hope you will capture one of them coming at you or with more head turn toward you.

    Francis,

I feel the going away position here is AOK as we get to see this nice wing detail and the tail as well. What I think would have been cool would be more depth of field to get more of the wings in focus. Assuming of course that did not present a problem with increasing detail in the BG.

Anytime I am photographing with a super clean BG I will go for more DOF. At 1/6400 sec shutter, you had plently to play with.

That said, I really like how this turned out.

Best of luck with getting the shot you envision! You're very close already. I agree that more DOF would be nice, and it looks like you've got enough light to stop down. Of course you likely won't get enough DOF to get the bird in focus from wingtip to wingtip. Look forward to more photos like this one.
