Hi Linda - Like the pose and the action. Your image is only 72 DPI - I thnk you willbe losing a lot of the detail and quality at 72DPI. I always post at 300DPI - in fact I never change what comes out of the camera in this area.
Heres a link about resizing it may help you.
Hi Linda,
Very good advise given by Mr. Peters and great repost illustrating the exposure adjustments by Uncle Gus...my suggestion for your next composition is to get a much lower capture angle if possible...good show...looking forward to your next one...
Nice action shot Linda. I like how you have the wings nice and spread out and the head is clear of them. Good one. Also interesting that you used flash. I have not tried that yet. It might have been interesting to see how when zoomed right in at 400mm a vertical shot of the head would have turned out. Looking forward to next one. Dave
Good image of Big Red !!! One of my favorite birds in the lagoon !! Can be a terror !!
Pose wise you might want to try for full open wings, that is were a fast motor comes into play giving choices. Do like the setting and feel, I like the tweaks by Gus !! Btw crop wise since the bird is on the move might crop a little top and bottom to enhance the forward motion.
Angle wise it would be neat something real low but for action when the bird is hopping around you best stay on your feet !!! btw Red should be in full breeding plumage soon !!!
the capture angle made this wing position work, but agree with al that fully open would be a little better. have yet to see one in the morph colors. cant wait!!
Nice shot and cature angle, though, as mentioned, a lower viewpoint is often best. Just thought I'd point out that as far as I know dpi has nothing to do with web images. They are going to show up 72-96 pixels per inch, depending on how the monitor is set up. DPI is very important in printing of course, but when converting an image to a JPEG for the web dpi can totally be ignored. Pixel dimensions are the only thing that matters. ~Bill
Thanks f'or all the comments. I posted this pic as a black and white. I don't know what happened in the posting. I will pay attention to the dpi next time I post.
