Really like the BG Mike and the colors (bird) really look good! Nice detail on the chest feathers..Would maybe try and sharpen the face a bit more.

    Hi Mike,
A clean background and nice details in the feathers...your head angle and the eye contact is off..I also see traces of cloning artifacts in the tree bark and in the background...your sunlight capture angle was from the top side of the bird; thus casting the bill shadow on his breast...suggestion...would clone out the shadow on the bird's breast and re-work the artifacts on the upper portion of the tree bark and in the background...looking forward to your next one...

Hi Mike, Nice one. Interesting looking bg. Looks like a storm coming in. I am not sure, but if bird was vertical perhaps the head angle and eye contact would appear better. Nice details and colour. Dave

thanks as usual. Dave, i thought about making the bird veritical and now that you said it, i think i should.
Gus, i saw the shadow on his face and debated as to what to do. if i clone it out i run the risk of tool marks. i see the marks on the bark and they are real bad. i should have seen them. it was a small branch that cluttered the scene.
    Nonda, i'll try that.
thanks again to you all for the time you spent commenting on my work.
