Male Osprey Arrives Home With A Fish -S.W Florida

The opportunities photographing Ospreys are increasing by the day. Soon, they will have eggs and the chicks will grow and they will come often to feed. Last year, I wasn't able to photograph them but this year I will take full advantage of this wonderful location.

    Hope you like it.

    Canon 40D, 400mm L @ f/8, 1/1600 sec, ISO 400, RAW, Manual Exposure, Almost full frame.

Love the spread wings, fish, sharpness, and exposure. Would like to see better eye contact.

I love interaction shots and this is a good one. It tells a story and there is no doubt what is happening. It's great to find an extended opportunity like this. As you are able to set up on these guys, I wonder if a little fill-flash (better beamer or such) would light up the eyes and faces a little.

Excellent capture Maxis. Great behavior captured. Cannot wait to see what you will get when the chicks hatch! :) This tells a good story!

Outstanding. Perfect exposure and wonderfully placed in the frame. Looks like he had to have a bite for the energy to get back home.

Hmmm, that fish head must have been really yummy!

Osprey seem to offer wonderful opportunities for story telling. I'm rarely impressed by an image of an Osprey just sitting there. Something needs to be happening. Fortunately, a lot is happening in your image. Well done.
