    Default Female Wood duck

Taken last summer from a boardwalk at a nearby swamp. I was lying flat on my stomach to get the lowest angle possible. Although the can't compare with the males, the female wood ducks have a charm of their own. Does anyone know if this is a juvenile? (there were several immature males nearby)

Nicely done. I like the inclusion of the REFL. I am not sure if it needs some CW rotation or if the bird is swimming slightly away.... It is surely a juvenile but I am not sure of the sex. A bit darker might work.

Like the low angle and sharpness. I think a saturation boost and some more contrast would help this image.

    Joel,
Lying on your stomach definitely helped. I agree with the suggestions regarding increasing saturation and contrast.

    Cheers,
