I think Mike had a good suggestion on the sky. But in any event, I think this works on a lot of levels. Simple comp, diagonal of the ridge, dark sky, raised leg impacting action, look on his face. Well done.
Nice pose, great look of determination on the face, great exposure of snow and sky. The lower, darker portions of his fur and (specifically the eye) seem a tad bit lightened to me. Reflecting snow, PP, buffalo cataracts, or me?

Absolutely lovely. The dark clouds adds a very important dimension to the image. The diagonal, snow, raised foot, good exposure all contribute in making it a great image. I do have the same question as Steve regarding the eye.
