    Default Black-winged Stilt in flight.

Captured near Sydney's physical center next door to the Olympic Stadium in a small wetland. Normally, a rather flighty species, here, they are somewhat used to human interference. I had ample fly-by opportunities with them and this is one of my faves, even though it may be considered a little steep.

30D, 300mm f/4L IS USM, Canon 1.4x cannot remember settings. Will amend. Also, added a touch of canvas onto the top, but wings were not clipped. :) Perhaps a little less magenta cast would be better too? Any thoughts?

    Hola Akos!
Very nice bird, really good wing position and even eye contact, I also find the legs very sharp.
I also see a magenta cast on the sky.

PS. I believe your signature means: Gran admirador de aves. At least in Spanish!

I just changed that to Admirer of birds señor Vindas but I can only have a short signature, and cannot even italicize it.

Good pose and very crisp. Great job with the exposure with detail in balcs and whites.

OK Akos, I gave it a try on PS. I didn't read the last part where you mentioned the magenta cast. I hope you don't mind.

PS: I still like your signature even if you can't italicize it!:)

Great details, eye contact and exposure control. The repost makes it even better. Do you have images taken earlier in this series with the bird flying toward you?

Very nice Akos. Good wing position, exposure, and sharpness. Would like to see the bird flying towards you. but overall nicely done.

Thanks for your kind comments. I do have an image of a different specimen flying towards me (actually attacking me) but I am not sure if it is up to the quality that would be required on BPN. I'll probably post it a bit later for comments and may well end up in the digital compost bin. The light is not quite as nice.

Very nice capture, Akos. The exposure is right on. These I imagine are a lot like the Black-Necked Stilts over here and very tough to get in flight, so my hat is off to you Mate. The repost did well to remove the magenta cast. Look forward to more of your work.

    Thank You Marina. :)

Ours are Himantopus himantopus and I believe they may also be found in your neck of the woods?
