Deer trying to cross a frozen Adirondack river, often don't make it across the weak ice spots. It is a sad ending, but invites an assemblage of bald eagles, ravens, and coyotes. This eagle flew in to join 8 others, at a recent mortality and carcass. Taken this morning from my car as blind. 40D, 500mm F4, 1.4x, cropped. The low sun was a bonus.

Av mode, Evaluative metering + 1/3

Sad story for the deer but I suppose a free lunch comes at a cost. Warm light and angled comp is lovely - works well against that grey BG. What metering/exposure did you use for this Jeff?
