    Default Hudsonian Godwit

Caught this little guy with its face in the mud last fall. He stuck around for about 3 weeks before heading further south.

Interesting shot with the muddy beak and face and drops in mid air. Lovely light on the side. A bit of fill flish would have opened up the shadow areas on th breast and forehead. A little more space around the bird would be good and I would clone out the distracting red braches in the water behind the bird

Beautiful bird. The side of the bird is weel exposed. The deep shadows around the face are a bit distracting. Have you tried some shadows/highlights in photoshop? You could also clone the red branch in the background.

Lovely light. The branches in the BG is very distracting. The mud is a great plus in this photograph.

That face looks too funny. Nice light, it would have been better if the sun would have been behind you. You could use S/H to get more details in the shadows. Other nits have been mentioned.
