Hey Denise, I like the comp and the DOF, only wish it had a little more light down at the bottom of the flower as it has a yellow tint opposed to a white which would work well with the white tips.

I like the stamen area - more light would probably make it even better - but I'm not really loving the white tips. Personal preference...probably just me.

Is this any better? Or just scrap it.

Denise, this may be a dumb question but are the tips of the tulip really white or did you just lose the red color in the tips when making the image? I ask because when I shoot red roses I can easily lose color in the edges if I overexpose (i.e. trying to expose to the right of the histogram). I find that I have to back off on the EV and brighten it up in PP to keep the red color throughout.

But then again, maybe the tips are white! :D

Ed, They are naturally white-I wanted a solid colored pale pink tulip, but the florist had the red& with white tips,or older yellow tulips so I had no choice-It is all practice so it was good that the edges were white it thru me a curve ball and really made me think about exposure, since this is only my 3rd photo shoot w/ unnatural light.
