The adult tern on the left was sitting on an egg and a one day old chick. (I learned the chick was one day old from a local birder.) All of a sudden, the other adult arrived and extended dinner to its chick. It happened so fast, I had no time to move or to change my settings for more DOF.
Your comments on the resulting picture would be greatly appreciated. I do wish I could see more of chick's head and/or beak but I love its spots, wings outspread and the story this picture tells. Marina

Hi Marina - love the action and the feel of this. Like the eye contact and the catchlight on the main bird.- well done. Agree with your self assesment.
I wonder if a little more sharpening to the chick is in order - something like this maybe???
Hi Marina,
I like your composition, image and capture as presented...it shows the subjects in their natural habitat, and the action is great...I like Mr. Peters' selective sharpening of the baby...good show...looking forward to your next one...
Great shot Marina,
Like the sharpening of the chick to make it more part of the story. You did well to capture this. I love these types of shots with the chicks in.
Excellent image and great reflexes !!! Just fine as presented and about the only thing that wold make it even stronger is a little separation between the baby and adult's beak !!! Big Congrats on this one !!!
Love the interaction Marina! Absolutely magic if you had asked me. Cannot always have the luxury of changing settings and so on. You managed well I reckon. Love the male's wings as they lead you to the corner of the frame and the little one is gorgeous. I am sure you can return and snap some more fab shots in time. :)
Marina, sorry I missed this, what a special opportunity. So sweet.
I am not up on this stuff, all still to new for me, but looks great to me, sharp, cpom, and colors
