I did a huge crop on this because of a really dull and boring BG. I converted it to a pano crop and couldn't get the colors to look right so I added an Orton effect and think it came out okay...certainly better than what I started with.

Are the birds too diffused? Should I lose the reflections?

It came out very nice Julie,
The subjects are placed just right in frame...the pano crop fits well here. I like the effect applied here...good show...

I agree with Gus. You've taken an otherwise average photo and given it a nice boost.

I am so glad that you posted this. Timing couldn't be better for me. Other than being a wonderful shot, it gives me an exampole of where I need to aim in my Orton efforts, very subtle ,and effective. Regards

    Hi Jules,
The Orton effect gives this a very soothing feel and the colours are beautiful.

Love the tones of browns in this with the purple in the ULC. Orton sets it off well Jules.

Lovely image. I like the comp, the brown tones and smooth texture you masterfully created!
