Is this a bad head angle?

You almost got it Lady Denise,
Just a very small CW rotation...:) I like the sharp details and the color rendition on the duck...the capture angle is a little steep also, not by much, you captured him standing up, not laying on the ground...I like the water running down his bill...goos show...:D:cool:

Hi Denise. Very nice shot! I agree with Gus that this would be better if you had been lying in the mud!:D The sharpness is good on the bill but I yearn for more sharpness in the eye and the green feathers on the back of the head and neck. I my repost, I selectively sharpened these areas about 20% with Nik Sharpener Pro, then after looking at a preview of the post, I resharpened the eye and a few strokes on the green head/neck areas with another 20% or so:).

Dan, It looks a little oversharpened on my monitor- agree it could have been a little sharper on the orig. I couldn't get lower there is a bank on that lake,so now I don't go to that lake cause you're always tempted to take the shot! Thanks for the help! Will re-sharpen the orig.

Dan, I am now home on my home monitor and I don't think it's oversharpened-I think my friends monitor must be too light!

Good looking Mallard Denice. The repost helps to bring out all the details. Amazing how they shed water. Dave

    Hi denise:

Your Mallard another fine presentation, I like your original, and think that the repost gives it that extra touch.

    Thanks for sharing

Denise, not being a bird expert, I love the back and forth. Your original capture was very nice, but I do agree a tad of extra sharpening really took it up a notch. I, myself, never am quite sure as to how much sharpening is enough or too much. I'm sure a lot of it has to be what monitor you have, etc. Great image.... Congrats!!!

    Great threat guys

... those ducks really have some bright feathers and I like seeing the contrast cranked up a bit as in the re post !!!
