Stunning capture in my book, great eye contact, great detail in the fur and excellent whites. Love the rear paw :)
Nicely exposed image with great detail.
Very nice Michael. I think this turned out well.
As an additional suggestion, try selecting the BG only and color balancing it for white (Levels adjustment and white eye dropper) for a high-key look.
Michael,
This is a lovely image. Well exposed. Love the details and as already mentioned by Fabs, I too love the rear paw. I am sure it would have been wonderful coming watching a polar bear in the wild. I was wondering why ISO 800 and the shutter speed of 1/1250. Unless it was a shaky platform, I would have tried for a lower shutter speed and a lower ISO (ofcourse the high ISO of mark III yields good images).
Cheers,

Most participants are respectful of others shooting, but sometimes a person will shift about on the buggy requiring a higher shutter speed than one would prefer to use.
Wind also plays a key factor in trying top maintain sharpness.
Noise is rarely a problem when shooting mostly high-key imagery.
Michael,
Sweet image!!!
The joint articulation and subsequent body posture really provides a sense of implied motion ;)
See you in a few days for penguins.
Best,
Chas
Superb polar bear image Michael. The direct stare, wonderful detail and that rear foot being raised really make the image.
Nice eye contact and great detail in the bear. Like the white surrounding the bear as well.
Ecellent image in all respects. Pose, head angle, eye contact, exposure and detail all just right, but the raised foot with a look at the well furred pads tell alot about this magnificent creature's habitat and evolution. Well done indeed!
