We had some cold and snowy days and I spent some hours with two Grey Herons in the snow.
I like this portrait with the snow slowly falling on the bird.
I think, there could be a bit more room on the left side, but I did not want to center the bids eye.
What do you think about the exposure and composition?

I like the light, details and the snow definitely adds to it. I would give it more room in order not to clip the long feather, you could also add more space on the right and top to even it out if necessary.
Hi Rosl,
I agree with Axel and your own thoughts, there should be more room on the right hand side.
This may be one of those photographs that work well when you break the rule. If not Axel's suggestion to clone in some more on the left would move the eye back to one side.
Thanks for sharing, I think the exposure is fine and with the one exception so is the composition.

Hi Rosl,
Excellent advice given above and if I had to only choose 1 area.....it would be behind the bird to get the whole feather. The snow adds tremendously to the overall feel and mood of this portrait.
Lovely detail, Rosl. As this stands I would remove a little from above to raise the eye in the image. Would prefer to add a tiny bit on the left and a little more to the right and the bottom.
A fine Image Rosl. In May we wille se eachother again and i wil show you the best places of Lesbos together with Erwin van Laar. It will be a verry beautifull time with a lot of species en photographs tot take home:)
