    Default Northern Juvenile Goshawk Re-visit

D300 300f2.8+1.7TC on monopod. Manual exposure mode, ISO 1600 f4.8 1/1250 sec. No flash. Cropped.

Shot in a foggy morning. No sunshine whatsoever.

Went back yesterday to the same place and was happy to find the goshawk still there hunting the ducks. It didn't catch anything while I was there and I unfortunately didn't have time to wait for any further action.

    C&C welcome and appreciated !!

    A very fine capture Desmond,
I like the landing pose...you show good details, I like the background and perch...only wished that his head were in the up position...good show...looking forward to your next one...

Really like it Desmond Love the pose and complementing bg About all I would do is might work on the eye to make it more prominent? Great feel !!!

I agree that there is a great feel to this image - definitely holds my interest. One of the intriguing aspects to me is that at first blush this looks like a sepia image, then you slowly see the color on the bird's nape, then in the green bits in the tree and the yellow of the bird's talons.
Fascinating image that not only breaks a bunch of photo "rules", it tramples them with gusto.
    Nicely done

Very nice Desmond. Exposure looks bang on. Am wondering if it would improve the comp by taking a bit off the bottom. Just a thought.
