    Default Unusual visitor to Viera

I was out with Harry to Viera yesterday and saw my first Peregrin Falcon. He was not real cooperative, but was able to catch this image. I wonder if the woodpecker was keeping its eye on him?:) This was taken with the D300 and Nikon 500 f4 lens with the 1.4TC, f8, 1/2000, iso 800. It was a bit of a distance so decided not to crop much more than this. Thanks for looking and of course all C&C's welcomed:).

That must be the world bravest Wood Pecker:eek:
I have seen a Peregrin there before on one other occasion but was unable to get an image.

70 views and no comments wow. A really interesting photo. I would have cropped a tiny bit more of the top to just below the junction of the branch. You can just see the woodpecker keeping an eye on the Peregrine!!!

I really like the inter reaction between the two, well caught.

That is quite amazing, I'm not sure if the woodpecker is brave or suicidal. :) I see a slight blue color cast on my monitor, raising the color temperature should fix this.

Thanks Don, Craig and Axel for your comments. I thought it was quite amazing that woodpecker just hanging out there. Although he did not move a muscle while I was taking these images.

That was it Axel, the slight blue cast. I thought something was just not quite right. Thanks!!

Very interesting image, Nancy. I also see a slight blue cast. I'm glad you got yourself a Peregrine!
