My first 2009 post. I would like to give my sincere thanks to all of my friends on this forum for all your kind words that you have expressed during the past few weeks. As most of you know by now, my dad passed away Jan 13 after a short battle with Cancer and that's the reason that I've not been around much. Your thoughts and prayers are what has kept me going the past few weeks as his health declined, and I thank God that he did not have to suffer for a long time. You guys are wonderful and true friends. Again I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

So I finally went out today for a little while late in the afternoon to Anhinga and this guy decided to pose for a bit.

    I see it now,
    It looks good Mr. O,
sharp...good colors...good head angle and good placement in frame...my only suggestion would be to add more canvas on the bottom for the feet...looking forward to your next one...

    Hi Oscar,
going out for taking pictures is very healing when you are sad and have to say goodbye. I know that, because I started photographing, when my little brother died, three years ago. I loved to go out, have time and space to be on my own. So my love for photographing birds started and I am happy with that.
My thoughts are with you, although I don't know you.
