Three sounds are symbolic of wildlife...the howl of a wolf, bugle of an elk, and the call of a loon.
I can't wait to see and hear my old friends again in June.

Yep, the call of the loon brings back many, many wonderful memories of the cottage when growing up. Still brings chills up my spine, especially in the middle of the night. Can't wait to hear them again too. Great extreme close-up...and the light is superb.

Excellent image, I like the mood, exposure control and angle. I know the loon sounds only from audio files but that is already quite impressive and would love to hear them in the field sometime.

Lovely light and detail with, as usual, perfect exposure control. I imagine the call of the Loon has similar significance to the call of the Fish Eagle to those of us with African roots.

That red eye is terrific Chas and I like the moment that you captured. The low angle is very good and the crayfish in the bill a big bonus.

Fantastic - like this a lot - the crayfish puts it over the top for me.
