    All I have to show for standing in a cow pasture 3 hours this morning waiting for my eagles to bring food to their young. He wouldn't look at me for nothing and by this time the light was pretty harsh.

    Good self-critique Mike! Sharpness looks good. As far as aperture goes, I might have opened up a bit; it would've given you all the DOF you needed for the bird and softened the BG a bit. I might darken the BG and blur it a little. Thanks for posting!

    Doug, I actually put in the aperture disclaimer but took it out before posting. I had it set to f/9 because it gives me DOF across the wing spans of eagles if I miss my focus point.. They were flying around me at the time when this guy just flew in and it was a quick grab.

    Details and eye contact are great. I might raise the color temperature a few degrees and desaturate the yellows a little. Maybe a bit more room at the bottom and more blurring of the BG.
