    50D, 300 F4LIS, ISO 400, F7.1, 1/6400 CWA, AI Servo, monopod with Manfrotto Ball head, IS on. Crouched and crawled up to about 12 feet, bait was not used. Note that there is a piece of snow in the corner of the owl's right eye. No crop.

    I was about to mention the right eye. :) 12 feet? That is close and you pulled off a wonderful shot Art. I like how it sits between the lumps of snow.

    I like the details, angle and exposure control. I've never seen an image with snowy eye before.

    Great control of the whites here. You have the look, sharp eyes good tonal range, lot's to like. I have yet to have the privilege of seeing or photographing them.
