We are considering submitting a few of our wildlife images for a local nature photo contest. Before doing so we would like to submit some of them to the forum for review and suggestions.

This image was taken during our Spring Wyoming trip to Yellowstone. This guy was being chased by a pronghorn and had just escaped when this image was made.

The image was shot at 250mm, 1/400 second, f5.6, ISO400. We would appreciate your thoughts on improvements. Thanks Jo and Phil

Nice job of catching him in the air. I like the wet fur and the water drops on the grass. I don't mind softer images, so with that in mind, this one looks a little over contrasty/oversharpened to my eye. Specifically, the coyote and the difference between him and the surrounding grass. Comp and colors look good.

Great action, scruffy looking beast, as mentioned, a bit over sharpened.

    Phil,

Try a reverse s-curve correction to lower contrast and sharpen a bit less as mentioned. Capture of the action and framing are well done.

Great timing to capture this one in mid-stride... I agree about the sharpening, and also think a little more space on top might help? Cool shot.
