Created just as this short eared looked up as it was working with the ocean directly behind it, looking down while hovering in the updraft over the dunes and when it looked up, we were literally eye to eye.
One frame later and the wings were chopped off.

How cool!! I like the tail feathers sticking out on either side of the head. Nice BG, and stare is quite intense. There a couple of post processing remnants along the left edge of the frame to tidy up.
A great example of knowing your subject. I imagine you could have envisioned this shot, and you made it happen. The eye contact is intense and makes this image unique. Nice work, Jim.
