This was the first blast off I managed to capture at Bosque. I was sitting in the car and ill prepared at the time. Just grabbed my camera and started shooting. Curious as to your opinions of the picture please?

    Thank you,

    Marina

Boy that's a lot of birds Marina. Must have been pretty exciting and noisy too. Now that I have color cop software it looks like a bit of red cast in photo, assuming I have used it correctly. Perhaps it would help to bring out the individual birds more if there was more contrast between the blacks and whites, perhaps some selective colour treatment? Good for you to capture it on no notice. Dave

Hi Marina - WOW lots of birds alright - I agree seems to have a slight colour cast on my screen.

I also wonder if a bit of additonal sharpening might not improve. :)

Hi Marina I like it a lot First things with these is having a clean bottom which you have, ideally you want a clean top but not that important here.

Bird density is good and normally you will be getting your best one the first couple of seconds after the blastoff !!! btw tech wise would increase the ISO Not much need for going so low !! Excellent image !!!

I have de-saturated the reds in this picture and given it a tad more sharpening. Please tell me if you think this helps. Thank you all for your comments. Marina

What an awesome sight! I have never seen anything like this in my life, you are privileged alright! :)

THe repost addresses the points mentioned above and looks a lot better. An amazing spectacle. How I wish to one day see this sort of action. :) Until then I can dream! :(
