Bright overcast almost midday today at Green Cay.
    1D MarkIII, 400mm f/4 DO with 1.4 converter.
    ISO 800, f 5.6, 1/2500
This is a new lens for me and I'm thinking it isn't as sharp as the 500 when used with a 1.4. I would appreciate some feedback.

Great capture of this moment. It looks a bit flat on my monitor, a little contrast boost should help. I guess you could sharpen the birds a bit more.

Nice moment captured, it does look a bit soft in places. Maybe use a smaller aperture next time as you had plenty of shutter speed to play with, great pose.....

    Nice work.

Thanks. I sharpened a little more and did an S-curve adjustment for more contrast. How does it look now?

Saw you yesterday Sue but had gotten there a few minutes to late, my luck. The repost is wonderful and the moment superb, wish I was there in time, maybe next time, thanks for sharing.

Great catch, Susan! I see a bit of magenta cast in the sky, you can select it with the magic wand and correct it.

Talk about being in the right place at the right time.:) Very lovely capture of these two with excellent detail and action. Really love the composition of this one and the perch adds a lot to this image. Many thanks for sharing Susan.

The contrast looks better in the repost, I agree regarding color cast and sharpening caused some halos.

Capture is awesome, very rare to see, I agree with Axel's comments, detail is very nice, repost is much better.

    Hi Sue...

Personally, I like to original better given the soft lighting conditions.

The title by the way, is absolutely perfect :)

Excellent capture. This is what I was looking for (my post on the newer thread you had started). Absolutely wonderful action and the repost is much nicer with the contrast punch.
