Well, here's number two ready for C&C's. I took the great suggestions from the American Tree Sparrow I posted yesterday into consideration while working this one. This was actually taken the same day as the Sparrow, only minutes apart (March 8, 2008 in a West Liberty, Ohio snowstorm).
Shot once again in RAW with a Canon Rebel XTi, 75-300mm F/4-F/5.6 USM III, 1/640 sec., F/5.6, ISO 400 at 205mm in AV mode.
Thanks again for all the comments. Hopefully, I can get some empty picture frames filled in no time.
Sorry, almost forgot. Plenty of PP in PS. Sharpening, some eye work, and a little cloning out of distractions along with the regular color correcting.

Reason: PS add on
Excellent composition Stefan,
I like the composition and capture you have great details and good color rendition...the head angle and sharp eye contact is dead on. I like the perch and side pose...congrats...
Really nice Stefan, nice sharp details eye is bang on. Not sure, but I might have tried to lighten/brighten up the eye and area around it a tad, good as is, but a thought. The snow adds a very nice touch.

Like the pose and overall feel Falling snow just makes it for me. Only have on bird book here with me but the eye didn't seem to have that much yellow, will check at home or maybe someone could look up. btw most birds will need some work around the eye, just darkening the pupil will make a difference.
Thanks everyone for the c&c's thus far. The eye can be a tricky bit for me. The original eye had a reflection of a window in it and was quite a bit darker.
Is it best to leave in the reflection of the window? Is there a good rule of thumb to go by when working on eyes?
