This pair have been a true joy to photograph. They have two eaglets, and we can now see their little heads popping up above the nest at feeding time. We look forward to photographing the young too once they have fledged.

    Canon 40D, 400DO & 1.4 TC @ 560mm
    F11, 1/500sec, ISO 400, manual mode
tripod mounted, cropped slightly for composition

    C & C always welcome and appreciated,

Nice image. Had to shoot up at them, I know, but we don't get to choose where they perch. Technical aspects of shot are strong, esp since in manual mode. Would like to know how it was metered. Perhaps a bit more canvas to the right; seems a bit out of balance ;-)

Great exposure control, details and eye contacts. A lower angle would have made it even better.

Decided to use F11 to make sure both birds were in focus since they were not on the same plane. From there, did a histogram check. Thank you for your advice. Marina

Here is the repost as per your suggestions. The repost is as shot, full frame. After seeing the two side-by-side, I definitely agree that more space was needed and that this rendition is more powerful. Thank you all for your comments and advice. Marina

I think the full frame works as both eagles are off center thus composition is balanced. I am not keen on shooting up either, but will take what I can when I can. You did a great job with this couple and I hope to sometime, see the babes. :)
