This is my first post on this forum. I have been checking out all the pictures for a long time, now I dare to post one. I have learned a lot just by surfing on this forum; there is an incredible amount of useful information and many fantastic pictures. Thanks for all the critics, comments and suggestions.
Welcome to BPN! You have great light on the face and bill. In addition, the beak acts as a leading line that guides the user's gaze straight to the pelican's eye. Good job. I don't know if you have more canvas or if this is an uncropped version but the compositon would be strengthened by cropping so that there is more room ahead of the bird than behind him. This would place your subject off-centered to the left rather than towards the right.
Welcome to BPN, Lorant! Nice first post. I like the head angle, light and details. I would put the bird further to the left in the frame and wish the sun would have been behind you. Keep them coming!
Nice light on the face, the whole side well-lit would be awesome! :) I agree with the boys about placing the pelican more to the left as if it were swimming 'into' the frame. :) This has really lovely colours and feel about it. Thanks.
Welcome to BPN Lorant!! Awesome first post. It is unconventional as it breaks few "rules", but in a way that I wouldn't have thought it would work - but it does. This image tugs at my senses...my eyes make want me to say to put the bird further left but, oddly, my brain likes it this way (does that make sense?). Same thing about the light angle, it somehow works for me. Looking forward to more.
