Olive-backed sunbird
One of my favourite fine asian birds, the Olive-backed sunbird I've shot in a botanic garden near a lake. Here is one of the images:
1DMK3, 400/5.6 at 5.6, 1/320sec, ISO 800, fill flash at -1/3, exp.comp +1/3, AV mode.
No NR, just curves in linear preset.
Beautiful bird, details and flower. I wish for a bit more head turn toward you and could see this as a vertical crop, too.
Very pretty setting! The bird turned its a head away a little too much. I would clone out the small yellow/brown lump peeking in in LLC, tone down the yellow above the flower (or transform it into a green) and if you have it I would add a bit above as I find the top of the flower rather close to the edge. I love the OOF grass leaves, and the splashes of pink are a very nice touch. A very lively image!!
Did u managed to shoot the Crimson SUnbird ?
Unfortunately I was unable even to see this Crimson Sunbid :(
