    Default Leopard at sunset

In the Londolozi Game Reserve adjacent to the Kruger.

I had to manual focus due to a huge number of twigs in the way but was pleased with the result.

One thing to note is that the colour of the sunset really stood out when I used the Camera Profiles in Lightroom (rather than the standard ACR ones)

I love how you placed the sun right behind the leopards head.. The OOF FG branches don't bother me.. I took the liberty to crop your image to a compostion I think would be more effective.. What do you think. Anyway spectacular opportunity and a fine image for sure.

    Per-Gunnar,

When I first looked at your image I did not see Dale's suggested crop but that is just what I pictured in my mind.

Thanks for the suggestion on the ACR profiles. Many people may not know that. I like the patterns the OOF BG creates with the sunset.

Ditto with Robert (and obviously Dale's crop). You made good use of a very special opportunity with this image!

Very dramatic image! Love the colors and the fact you can still make out a little detail in the head.

    Hi P-G!
I actually prefer the original. I find that it quite literally puts the drama of the image 'centre stage.' I love it!

Nice job of keeping the shadow detail. Well placed subject too. Really gives a good feeling of the approaching African night.

Lovely image. Lot of shadow details. I prefer the repost for composition. Thanks for your tip on camera profiles.

Lovely mood and light, wow, very effective. I could go with either crop, it's still a gem!
