This was photographed in the North West province of South Africa. There are only a few hundred left of these guys in South Africa.

Fantastic pose and feather details, Isak. DOF covers the bird perfectly and the shutter speed has frozen this fast mover. I would be tempted to darken the BG a bit and maybe boost the blue to complement the yellow tones of the bird. Very well done.

Great shot Isak, I have not even seen one these yet. I agree with Tony's suggestion of darkening the background a bit.

Thanks for the comments and suggestion! I agree and will try this.

Chris, apparently about 300 left between Sun City and Thabazimbi, but up north in Botswana and Tanzania there are plenty.

Love it, the BG could be darker, yes, but still, this is noit an easy subject to get! Beautifull ligt, pose and detail! Congratulatinos!

Love the composition, the subjects posture and the DOF / Detail is excellent.

While I'm typically not a fan of overly blu skies, I have to agree with the other folks...in this case it would possibly improve the overall image.

    Great job capturing this moment!

Great light, pose, details and eye contact. I would give it a bit more space.

Hmmm, never saw this one Isak, was this with the second visit you and Margo did!?
Well done here and with little more space will work excellently for me!
