    “Mr. Ray”

This is Mr. Ray, one of the resident Blue Jays that frequents my Pops garden. He was painted with a Nikon D200, using a Nikkor AF-S 300mm f/4 D IF-ED lens with a Nikkor 1.4 T/C.

    Image solution:
focal length @ 630mm / exposure mode @ aperture priority / in camera matrix metering / ISO @ 320 / 1/125sec. - f/5.6 / white balance @ auto / AF - mode @ dynamic range, auto - continuous / color space @ sRGB / lighting solution - speedlight, set to manual at ¼ lumen burst, with attached diffuser screen for wide dispersal pattern / exposure comp @ -0.3EV / tone comp @ +1 degree / hue adjustment @ +2 degrees / saturation factor @ +2 degrees / support platform - no tripod, hand held, braced against palm tree /

    Comments greatly appreciated…

Very nice Gus. Although the previous jay post was also excellent, I think prefer this one. The details and colour of the bird seem to stand out more, especially in shoulder and throat area. Well done, Dave

Gus, I like the HA on this a little more than the last post-details are sharp and the BG colors a little softer-well done!

It's sharp, well exposed. The head angle is great. The background is interesting without being overwhelming. What's not to like? Great shot Gus.

    Cheers.

    Sean
