    Default American Wigeon

Here's another one from early last week. I am trying to work on getting some flight shots of species that I already have standard portrait shots of. I liked the green sheen on this fella's head.

    Camera Model: Canon EOS 40D
    Shutter speed: 1/1600 sec
    Aperture: 6.3
    Exposure mode: Av
    Exposure compensation: +1/3
    Flash: Off
    ISO: 400
    Focal length: 500mm + 1.4x
    Full frame :D

Great shot Glen. Only niggle is far wing emanating from the head - if the wings had been in a different position you would have lost the green of the speculum complementing the green head though. Focus perfect - love those fluttering scapulars on the back of the near wing :)

Looks great to me. I don't have enough flight shots of anything to worry about a wing going through a head :D Love the iridescence!

Wonderful timing Glenn and I love the determined look on his face with superb eye contact. The slight wing blur really adds to the feeling of motion. Beautiful capture !!

Nice photo Glenn! I agree with the comment about the far wing, but love the sharpness and color.

Gorgeous light on this Wigeon and the blue water is a bonus. Getting the right wing position is luck and you had it here. Well done.
