Beautiful image with great light and detail. Perhaps a vert. would work a bit better as there seems to be too much negative space. Was this a big crop as the BG seems to have a bit of noise?

Cropping just half the space between the tail and edge of frame and then a bit at top would make a big difference composition-wise. Not sure of the exact species (if that is what you are asking), but is certainly a beautiful individual :-)

Very lovely capture with nice pose and excellent detail. I agree with the above cropping suggestion and wonder is this species of bee-eater this light in color as I think of the ones I saw being a tad more vibrant? Thanks for sharing.

I like the soft light, head angle and BG. Good crop suggestions and yes to NR on the BG.

Hi Ken, I can't help you with the sp. neither, but I gave it a try with the compo, may be not the best, what do you think?
Great BG and eye contact, a winner for sure.
